Festival Season is in Full Swing!

The first day of Summer has passed & with it marks the annual kick start to the festival season.

In this latest blog, we are going to focus on three festivals taking place out the Connemara direction over the coming weeks as well as letting you know where you can book your tickets to get you as close to the action as possible!

The three in question are:

-Inisbofin Arts Festival
-Connemara Mussel Festival
-Leenane Mountain Walking Festival

Inishbofin Arts Festival

Inishbofin Island is looking forward to the annual Arts Festival over the May Bank Holiday Weekend, May 4th to 6th 2018.

The guys are thrilled to welcome Johnny Brady to Inishbofin for the first time! Johnny Brady has one of the most distinctive voices in modern country music.

The 2018 festival will welcome old friends and new to the island!

Connemara Mussel Festival

The 2018 Connemara Mussel Festival offers a feast for the senses. Originally established to promote the excellence of the mussels from Killary Harbour, the festival has grown to become a celebration of local people, food, culture and heritage and is recognised as the premier food event for Connemara attracting visitors from near and far.

The hub of the festival is in Tullycross village where renowned professional chefs will demonstrate the cooking of mussels and other local produce. The amateur, children’s and celebrity mussel cooking competitions are a major highlight.

Leenane Mountain Walking Festival

Enjoy a unique combination of mountain and sea as Leenane is situated on the edge of Killary Harbour and surrounded by mountains in all directions. This May will be the 8th year of the Leenane Mountain Walking Festival which has become a major event on the events calendar for Connemara and the area. The 2018 event will take place on from the 4th – 7th May bank Holiday. This great festival has been designed to suit all levels of walkers from casual low level walks to the more experienced! Each day there is a choice of at least 3 walks from Strenuous to low level plus geology & archaeology fieldtrip. This year the programme includes the firm favourite Mweelrea as well as the Maamtrasna and the Sheeffry Hills.
