Inishbofin Arts Festival
Inishbofin Island is looking forward to the annual Arts Festival over the May Bank Holiday Weekend, May 4th to 6th 2018.
The guys are thrilled to welcome Johnny Brady to Inishbofin for the first time! Johnny Brady has one of the most distinctive voices in modern country music.
The 2018 festival will welcome old friends and new to the island!
There’s loads more happening over the weekend and plenty for kids making this a real family friendly weekend! Keep an eye on this page, inishbofin.com or Inishbofin Island on Facebook for more information as we’ll update details as we confirm them!
Connemara Mussel Festival
The 2018 Connemara Mussel Festival offers a feast for the senses. Originally established to promote the excellence of the mussels from Killary Harbour, the festival has grown to become a celebration of local people, food, culture and heritage and is recognised as the premier food event for Connemara attracting visitors from near and far.
The hub of the festival is in Tullycross village where renowned professional chefs will demonstrate the cooking of mussels and other local produce. The amateur, children’s and celebrity mussel cooking competitions are a major highlight.
Leenane Mountain Walking Festival
Enjoy a unique combination of mountain and sea as Leenane is situated on the edge of Killary Harbour and surrounded by mountains in all directions. This May will be the 8th year of the Leenane Mountain Walking Festival which has become a major event on the events calendar for Connemara and the area. The 2018 event will take place on from the 4th – 7th May bank Holiday. This great festival has been designed to suit all levels of walkers from casual low level walks to the more experienced! Each day there is a choice of at least 3 walks from Strenuous to low level plus geology & archaeology fieldtrip. This year the programme includes the firm favourite Mweelrea as well as the Maamtrasna and the Sheeffry Hills.
Citylink offer regular services from Galway-Clifden serving many stops along the way. Our best advice would be to map out which of the festivals tickles your fancy & we will bring you to one of our Citylink drop-off points out the Clifden direction.
