WHERE ARE THE CLIFFS?
The Cliffs of Moher can be found on the West coast of Ireland, within touching distance of Liscannor village in County Clare.
WHY DID THEY NAME IT CLIFFS OF MOHER?
The Cliffs take their name from a ruined promontory fort ‘Mothar’ – which was demolished during the Napoleonic wars in the early 1800’s, to make room for a signal tower at Hag’s Head. The word ‘Mothar’in old Gaelic means ‘the ruin of a fort’.
The Cliffs extend for approximately 8km (5 miles) as the crow flies.
Included in the service charge is the entrance to Cliffs of Moher and Visitor Centre. The service departs from Gate G of Galway Coach Station & is operated by Lally Tours Tel: 091 562905.
Now roll on Summer 2018!
